The Japanese-built 2026 Subaru Outback line-up will comprise familiar Outback AWD, Outback AWD Premium, Outback AWD Touring grades beneath the flagship Outback AWD Wilderness and Outback AWD Wilderness Apex duo.
While powertrain and pricing for the line-up has been announced previously – now $4800 dearer at $48,990 plus on-road costs – it’s the equipment details listed below that showcase the model as Subaru’s most technologically advanced model yet.
For the entry-grade Outback AWD we find equipment highlights that include 18-inch alloy wheels in a dark metallic finish, automatic LED exterior lighting, an eight-way powered driver’s seat with lumbar support, heated front seats, ladder-style roof rails, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, powered tailgate, synthetic leather upholstery, and a 12.3-inch digital panel and 12.1-inch infotainment touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.
Other important inclusions for the base Outback grade include nine airbags, adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking (AEB), blind spot monitoring, driver monitoring and emergency driving stop system, front-side radar, rear cross-traffic alert, and reverse AEB as part of Subaru’s extensive EyeSight safety technology suite.
To those features, the second tier Outback AWD Premium adds 360-degree camera technology, an eight-way powered passenger seat, electric sunroof, heated steering wheel, and in-built satellite navigation.
The mid-grade Outback AWD Touring adopts machine-finished 18-inch alloys, Nappa leather upholstery, ventilated front seats, heated outboard rear seats, a wireless phone charger, 12-speaker harman/kardon premium audio, and auto side mirror and driver’s seat adjustment as part of the driver recognition system.
Moving into the turbocharged Outback AWD Wilderness and we find a unique exterior and interior design with model-specific LED front fog lights, improved towing capacity and ground clearance, Wilderness exterior branding, adaptive suspension, water-repellent upholstery with Wilderness embossing, an auto-dimming rear-view mirror, copper-colour interior accents, dual tailpipes, and dual X-Mode all-wheel drive technology.
Finally, for the range-topping Wilderness Apex we note an electric sunroof, native sat-nav, 360-degree camera system, and a 12-speaker harman/kardon premium audio bundle.
