Alfa Romeo's new flagship 8C Competizione coupe beuts in Sydney alongside new Spyder27 Oct 2006 A BEVY of new models headlines Alfa Romeo Australia's exhibit at this year's Sydney show, led by the Italian brand’s latest (Brera coupe-based) Spider two-seater convertible – sub-$77,000 pricing and full specifications for which were revealed last week. Appearing as a concept in Sydney two years ago, the rear-drive 8C Competizione super-coupe also made its Australian debut for Alfa in Sydney – direct from its global production debut at Paris last month. Though it will not be built in right-hand drive, the limited-production Porsche 911 rival has already attracted dozens of interested Australians and will spawn an open-topped Spider version powered by the same 336kW/470Nm 4.7-litre V8.Alfa's new 159 sedan and 159 Sportwagon range is also on display, alongside the GT and Brera coupe offerings and the brand’s upgraded 166 Ti sedan flagship.
