Future models - Hyundai - Ioniq 6 - NHyundai unleashes Ioniq 6 N at Goodwood FOSKorean marque adds to its high-performance EV line-up, introducing 478kW Ioniq 6 N14 Jul 2025 By MATT BROGAN HYUNDAI Motor Company has officially unveiled its Ioniq 6 N electric sports sedan at this week’s Goodwood Festival of Speed, the 478kW all-wheel drive model following in the tyre tracks of the Ioniq 5 N as a track-capable yet street-ready electric vehicle.
The Korean brand says the Ioniq 6 N continues its “unwavering commitment to building high-performance EVs”, noting technical advancements in areas including suspension geometry, damping, stability control electronics, virtual gear shifting, and virtual sound quality it says aim to ensure “every drive is both engaging and immersive”.
In further bolstering the model’s performance credentials, Hyundai has revamped the battery management system of the high-performance EV, offering both longer lasting and elevated performance, and optimised thermal management.
“With the Ioniq 6 N, Hyundai N aims to elevate its offerings, enticing drivers with electric powertrains that offer high-performance enthusiasts a thrilling new avenue to electrify their passion both on the road and the track,” said Hyundai Motor Company CEO and president José Muñoz.
The Ioniq 6 N produces 478kW and 770Nm of total system power to offer a 0-100km/h acceleration time of just 3.2 seconds. Top speed is listed at 257km/h.
In assisting vehicle stability at such speeds, the Ioniq 6 N features “motorsport-inspired” aerodynamic elements that include a swan neck-style rear wing and widened fenders. Creating not only a functional part of the vehicle’s overall aspect, the aerodynamic treatments create a head-turning aesthetic, matched in the case of the Goodwood example by Performance Blue Pearl paint.
Other colour options include Abyss Black Pearl, Gravity Gold Matte, Nocturne Gray Metallic, Nocturne Gray Matte, and Serenity White Pearl.
The interior is finished black with Performance Blue accents.
“The Ioniq 6 N combines formidable power, sophisticated battery management, aerodynamic mastery and advanced suspension systems to deliver a compelling blend of speed, stability and comfort, setting new benchmarks in modern automotive engineering,” said Hyundai Motor Company executive vice president and head of vehicle development technical unit Manfred Harrer.
While Hyundai Motor Company has yet to reveal production scheduling or pricing for the Ioniq 6 N, it has provided a number of specifications illustrating the performance potential of the model.
It lists front motor power at 166kW and rear motor power at 292kW, offering total system power of 448kW – or 478kW with Boost mode engaged. Energy is stored in an 84kWh battery which may be charged from 10-80 per cent “in about 18 minutes” when connected to a 350kW DC fast charger.
Hyundai says the projected driving range of the Ioniq 6 N will be “announced at its regional market launch”.
The model rides on 20-inch alloy wheels shod with sticky Pirelli P-Zero 5 HN tyres in a 275/35 aspect. Braking is via four-wheel discs measuring 400mm at the front and 360mm at the rear, clasped by four-piston and single-piston callipers respectively.
Oh, and in case you’re wondering if the Ioniq 6 N will fit inside your garage, you’ll need to know that it measures 4935mm in length, 1940mm in width, 1495mm in height, and 2965mm in wheelbase.
