Future models - Saab - 9-5First look: Saab reveals facelifted 9-5Nose job: Midlife 9-5 update applies new front-end styling from 9X concept. FInally, Saab unveils a facelifted 9-5 ahead of its Frankfurt motor show debut31 Aug 2005 By TERRY MARTIN GENERAL Motors’ Swedish brand Saab will introduce its facelifted 9-5 sedan and wagon range at the Frankfurt motor show next month. As GoAuto revealed last month, the new 9-5 features a revised front-end with cues from the 9X concept car that debuted in Frankfurt way back in 2001. Of course, things take a while to change at Saab – an all-new replacement for the 9-5, for example, is not due for another four years, about a dozen years after the car’s 1997 introduction in Australia. Details of this latest update are still sketchy, although the interior gets an updated dash and trim, engine power is known to have increased for the range-topping Aero model and Saab claims chassis dynamics have been further refined with "sportier handling characteristics". It goes on sale Down Under in the second quarter of next year.
