Chery Tiggo 9 Super Hybrid priced

CHERY has announced the newest addition to its range of Super Hybrid models for Australia with the large segment Tiggo 9 seven-seat SUV.

Available from November, the Chery 9 Super Hybrid is available from $59,990 plus on-road costs, undercutting key segment competitors including the Hyundai Palisade Hybrid (from $89,900), Kia Sorento Hybrid (from $70,300), Mazda CX-80 Hybrid (from $75,250), and Toyota Kluger Hybrid (from $62,410).

Chery says the Tiggo 9 Super Hybrid offers a compelling blend of technology, design, and features, and is capable of travelling up to 170km on electric power only – or 1250km all told (NEDC).

Offered initially in Ultimate all-wheel drive trim only, the Tiggo 9 Super Hybrid features a strong equipment list comprising highlights such as 20-inch alloy wheels, acoustic glass, automated parking technology, six-way electrically adjustable front seats with heating, massage, and ventilation functions, a heated steering wheel, heated and ventilated outboard rear seats, LED ambient cabin lighting, LED exterior lighting, a panoramic sunroof with powered sunshade, and a powered tailgate.

Infotainment and connectivity highlights include a 360-degree camera system, 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, head-up display, 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment array, a 14-speaker Sony premium audio bundle, native sat nav, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity (wired and wireless), and a 50-watt wireless phone charger.

Safety and driver assistance technologies include adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, blind spot monitoring, lane keeping assistance, 10 airbags, and more.

The Tiggo 9 Super Hybrid is available in a choice of four paint colour options including Aurora Green, Cosmic Black, Star White, and Technical Grey.

As is the case in other Tiggo models available locally, the Tiggo 9 Super Hybrid is powered by the combination of a turbocharged 1.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine and three electric motors (two at the front and one at the rear). Together, they have a combined system output figure of 315kW and 580Nm via a Dedicated Hybrid Transmission.

Electrical power is stored in a 34kWh lithium-ion battery.

Like all Chery products, the Tiggo 9 Super Hybrid is backed by a seven-year/unlimited-kilometre warranty with included 24/7 roadside assistance and capped-price servicing program, while the high-voltage battery is covered for a period of eight years / unlimited kilometres.

Further, and until 30 November, a special pre-order bonus will match customer deposits from between $500 and $2000, meaning customers could pay just $57,990 plus on-road costs for the all-new Chery Tiggo 9 Super Hybrid.

Dealer stock of the new model is set to arrive locally from November.
