New models - Fiat - DucatoFiat Ducato Series 2 arrives Down UnderFiat rolls out Ducato Series 2 locally, with updated powertrain, tech and safety8 Dec 2025 FIAT Professional Australia has launched its Ducato Series 2 range locally, with the medium, long and extra-long wheelbase van models priced from $57,500 excluding on road costs, all scoring updated powertrains, technology and safety, and, importantly for commercial operators, a longer five-year warranty.
The Ducato remains at the pointy end of the heavy van sales ladder (comprising 3501kg to 8000kg GVM models) with the Stellantis brand shifting 1372 units so far this year – trailing market leading models like the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, Ford Transit and Renault Master.
Fiat has packed an array of additional technology into the new Series 2 line-up, including a 10-inch infotainment display with wireless smartphone mirroring, redesigned dash, and improved suite of ADAS systems, while additional options like a digital rear view mirror, automatic LED headlights and wireless phone charger are available.
While the outgoing models do feature an ADAS system, the new range now gets commercial vehicle favourites like traffic sign recognition, intelligent speed assist and driver attention assist.
The new Ducato features an eight-speed automatic, replacing the outgoing model’s nine-speed unit, mated to the same 2.2-litre turbocharged diesel engine producing 132kW/450Nm.
Visually, the Ducato Series 2 offers a front-end freshen up and, according to Fiat, improved aerodynamic performance – although a drag coefficient figure has not been provided by the brand.
Fiat’s Ducato plays at the heavy end of the van segment, with GVMs ranging from 3510kg in the medium wheelbase model, to 4250kg in both the long and extra-long wheelbase variants, with a payload exceeding 2000kg for the larger models.
The medium wheelbase model offers a cargo volume of 11.5 cubic metres, while the long wheelbase offers 13 cubic metres and the extra-long wheelbase ups the ante with 15 cubic metres.
The Ducato Series 2 is now available at dealerships, offered with an improved five-year/200,000km warranty (up from three years) as well as five years of roadside assistance.
