New models - GWM - Haval - H6Updated GWM Haval H6 priced for OzCheaper, facelifted Haval H6 arrives in dealerships this month from $35,990 d/a2 Jul 2025 By MATT BROGAN GWM has announced pricing and specification details for its updated Haval H6.
The model is expected to arrive in Australian showrooms from this month, delivering what GWM says is a “compelling mix of performance, efficiency, style and technology” priced from $35,990 driveaway – up to $2000 less than before, depending on variant (see pricing table below).
Powertrain options grow to include petrol, hybrid, and plug-in hybrid alternatives, the latter said to offer fuel consumption as low as 1.0 litre per 100km (NEDC) and acceleration from 0-100km/h in as little as 4.8 seconds.
Available exclusively on the Ultra grade in both two- and all-wheel drive configurations, and new for 2025, the PHEV powertrain combines a 1.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine with dual electric motors to produce a system output of 240kW/540Nm in front-wheel drive format and a pure electric driving range of 106km (NEDC).
In the all-wheel drive format, the system output increases to 269kW/760Nm while achieving just 1.1L/100km (NEDC) and offering up to 100km of pure electric driving.
GWM says the PHEV duo features a CCS2 charging connector capable of AC and DC charging. A 34kW DC charging rate allows a 30-80 per cent charge in as little as 28 minutes.
Lux and Ultra variants continue to be offered with both the turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine and 1.5-litre four-cylinder petrol-electric hybrid.
GWM says the former benefits from a 13 per cent increase in power (now 170kW) and 19 per cent increase in torque (now 320Nm) and is paired with a new nine-speed dual-clutch transmission for “improved responsiveness and efficiency”. NEDC cycle fuel consumption is listed at 7.4 litres per 100km on 91RON unleaded fuel.
Meanwhile, the 1.5-litre hybrid offers 179kW and 530Nm to the front wheels via a Dedicated Hybrid Transmission. Fuel economy remains unchanged at 5.2 litres per 100km, also operating on standard 91RON unleaded fuel.
The updated H6 also introduces what GWM says is a “bold, premium design language” characterised by a broad cascading grille complemented by vertically oriented LED daytime running lights and carryover headlight units at the front.
A subtly refined side profile incorporating black wheel arch cladding and new 19-inch multi-spoke black alloy wheels does away with the chrome trim of the outgoing model, while at the rear, sharply angled individual tail-lights replace the light bar, joining new GWM badging and a motion activated tailgate.
Braked towing is listed at 1500kg in petrol-electric models or 2000kg in petrol variants.
Colour choices include Hamilton White as standard, or optionally ($+495) Astral Pearl, Ayers Grey, or Golden Black.
Inside, we find the gear selector moved to the column to free up space on the centre console for additional storage and the inclusion of a wireless phone charging pad.
A larger 14.6-inch infotainment array offers faster processing and a “more intuitive user experience”, while further supporting wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, eight-speaker sound, digital radio reception, and voice control.
Ahead of the driver, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster displays a visual layout familiar to Tank 300 and 500 models.
Further, the steering wheel has been subtly refined, now offering a thicker profile and newly sculpted indentations at the 10 and 2 o’clock positions to “improve grip and comfort on longer journeys”.
GWM says the redesigned interior of the H6 offers improved ergonomics and increased storage solutions throughout, highlighting changes that include an automatically activated parking brake and 360-degree surround view monitor with transparent chassis mode for safer manoeuvring.
Upholstery options vary with grade, and colour options according to exterior hue. Black and Cream coloured faux leather are the only options offered. Luggage capacity is listed at 560 litres in five-seat mode, extending to 1485 litres all told.
Equipment highlights for the Lux grade include 19-inch alloy wheels, LED lighting front and rear, puddle lights, folding wing mirrors, keyless entry and ignition, powered driver seat adjustment, dual-zone climate control, auto-dimming rear-view mirror, dusk-sensing headlights, rain-sensing wipers, and rear parking sensors.
The Ultra grade adds rear privacy glass, a panoramic sunroof, heated and ventilated front seats, powered passenger seat adjustment, nine-speaker sound (on petrol and PHEV models), driver seat position memory, driver seat lumbar support, head-up display, auto parking assist, a heated steering wheel, and front parking sensors.
A comprehensive suite of safety systems is offered and includes adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, blind spot monitoring, driver monitoring, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, rear cross traffic alert, top-tether and ISOFIX child-seat anchorages, traffic sign recognition, seven airbags, and more.
GWM passenger vehicles are backed by a seven-year/unlimited-kilometre vehicle warranty with high-voltage batteries covered by an eight-year/unlimited-kilometre guarantee. Five years roadside assistance and capped price servicing is included as part of the bundle.
GWM Australia and New Zealand head of marketing and communications Steve Maciver said pricing related to the capped-price servicing program and ANCAP rating will be confirmed closer to the official on-sale date.
“The H6 has long been a cornerstone of our SUV line-up and a key contributor to GWM’s growth in Australia,” he said.
“With this latest update, we’ve elevated the H6 in every respect – from design and technology to electrification and everyday usability.
“It’s a reflection of our ongoing commitment to delivering vehicles that offer technology, real-world value, choice, and sophistication for Australian drivers.
