New models - KGM - RextonModel year update for KGM Rexton SUVMore features and up to $2500 price increase for MY26 KGM Rexton large SUV18 Aug 2025 By MATT BROGAN THE car company formerly known as SsangYong, now KGM, has updated its Rexton large SUV for MY26, upping the model's pricing by as much as $2500 in the process.
Changes to the seven-seat Rexton range include the introduction of electrically assisted steering, adaptive cruise control and lane keeping assist across the range.
Elsewhere are LED headlights and a new daytime running light signature, as well as sequential indicators.
As per the KGM Musso, the Rexton does away with the Adventure nomenclature at its middle tier, adopting the Advance nameplate.
Further to the new standard features, the entry model Rexton ELX gains leather-look seating, while rear door pull-up sun blinds are added to Advance. The penultimate Ultimate gains wireless phone charging.
Finally, the flagship Sport Pack has black leather and suede seats, suede door cards and dashboard capping, plus a gloss black steering wheel bezel.
Elsewhere, the Rexton range remains largely familiar. The ELX grade (from $52,000 d/a) continues to feature 18-inch alloy wheels, leatherette upholstery, 12.3-inch instrumentation and infotainment screens, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, LED front fog and rear combination lights, dual-zone climate control, and dusk-sensing lights.
Standard safety inclusions are numerous, and include adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, auto high beam, blind spot monitoring, front and rear parking sensors, lane change collision warning, lane keeping assist, rear cross-traffic alert, and a reversing camera.
The mid-tier Advance (from $57,500 d/a) adds to or substitutes these features with a powered tailgate, eight-way powered front seats with driver-side lumbar adjustment, ventilated front seats, heated front and outboard rear seats, a heated steering wheel, tyre pressure monitoring, and touch-sensing/walk-away locking.
For the Ultimate grade (from $61,500 d/a) a powered sunroof, premium leather upholstery, quilted door cards and dashboard fascia panel are added along with a 360-degree parking camera, third-row ventilation controls, a wireless device charging pad, LED ambient cabin lighting, and rear privacy glass.
On the Rexton Sport Pack (from $64,200 d/a) metallic paint becomes standard (a $700 option elsewhere), joining black leather and suede upholstery, gloss black steering wheel bezel, Shadow Chrome exterior garnishing, LED front fog lights with Shadow Chrome bezels, 20-inch alloy wheels (you guessed it, in Shadow Chrome), and black roof rails.
As previously was the case, the KGM Rexton is powered by a 148kW/441Nm turbocharged 2.2-litre four-cylinder diesel engine paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. Drive is to all four wheels via a two-speed transfer case, with a locking rear differential as standard.
KGM lists the Rexton's braked towing capacity at 3500kg.
Paint options across the range include Grand White (NCO), White Pearl, Space Black, and Marble Grey – the latter three hues attracting a $700 price premium on all grades except the Sports Pack.
As before, the Rexton is backed by a seven-year/unlimited-kilometre warranty and five-year roadside assistance program.
