New models - Renault - DusterDuster sweeps in from under $32KRenault prices its Duster SUV for Australia, two-variant range generously specified1 Jul 2025 By MATT BROGAN RENAULT has announced pricing and specification details for its incoming Dacia light segment SUV, the model range due in showrooms this month priced from $31,990 plus on-road costs.
Further, and as a limited-time offer to celebrate the Duster’s launch, Renault Australia will offer the entry-grade Evolution 4x2 from $34,990 drive-away, placing the Romanian-built model in step with rivals including the Kia Stonic, Toyota Yaris Cross, and Volkswagen T-Cross.
Two- and all-wheel drive variants will be offered, with power sourced from a turbocharged 1.3-litre four-cylinder engine sending 113kW/277Nm to the front wheels through a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission or, for all-wheel-drive variants, a turbocharged 1.2-litre mild hybrid three-cylinder engine making 96kW/230Nm with a six-speed manual gearbox.
Whereas the 1.3-litre engine operates on 91 RON unleaded petrol, the 1.2-litre unit requires 95 RON or higher premium unleaded. Fuel consumption figures are listed at 6.5- and 5.7 litres per 100km respectively.
In both instances, braking is via four-wheel discs and suspension via a strut front / torsion beam rear combination in 4x2 variants, or with a multi-link rear in 4x4 variants.
Towing capacity is listed at 1500kg (braked) across the board, while cargo volume varies between 4x2 and 4x4 grades with 472 litres in the former and 358 litres in the latter.
Renault Australia general manager Glen Sealey says that unlike most rivals in its class, the new Renault Duster has tall suspension and generous off-road clearance of up to 212mm.
“Unlike most vehicles in this segment, new Renault Duster really does blend the best of both worlds, with a genuine ability to bridge the gap between the urban jungle and the great outdoors,” he said.
“Its compact dimensions make it easy to park in tight spots in the city and suburbs, and its tall ground clearance and intelligent traction control systems make it easy to manoeuvre in a range of off-road conditions.”
Key specifications for the Duster Evolution (from $31,990 + ORC) include 17-inch alloy wheels, cloth upholstery, cruise control, dual-zone climate control, dusk-sensing LED headlights, electronic parking brake, fixed roof rails, rain-sensing wipers, and a reversing camera with rear parking sensors.
Technology inclusions add a 7.0-inch digital instrument cluster and 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment array, the latter with AM/FM/DAB+ digital radio reception, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Bluetooth connectivity, Arkamys six-speaker sound, and wireless device charging.
Stepping up to the Duster Techno (from $37,990 + ORC) adds 18-inch alloys, premium cloth upholstery, rear privacy glass, a 360-degree camera system, front parking sensors, keyless entry and ignition, auto high beam, split-level cargo area (4x2 models only), and modular roof rails.
Colour choices include Solid White at no cost, or for $750 the choice of Cedar Green, Khaki Green, Pearlescent Black, Sandstone, Shadow Grey, or Terracotta.
All grades are equipped with a long list of safety features including front, side, and curtain airbags, autonomous emergency braking, driver attention alert, ISOFIX (x2) and top-tether child-seat anchorages, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, safe follow distance warning, traffic sign recognition, and tyre pressure monitoring.
High grade Techno models add blind spot monitoring.
The Renault Duster is backed by a five-year/unlimited-kilometre warranty with routine maintenance intervals set at 12 months or 30,000km (whichever comes first).
“Customer demand for adventure vehicles in Australia remains strong, and Renault Duster reflects this lifestyle,” added Mr Sealey.
“It (the Duster) is ideal for urban use yet has the ability to unlock a weekend escape.
“Whether customers choose the 4x2 or 4x4 version, the other advantage of Renault Duster’s tall suspension is the comfort it delivers over bumps and thumps on suburban roads.”
