For the entry grade Tayron 110TSI Life we find standard inclusions such as 18-inch Bologna alloy wheels, keyless entry with alarm, a powered tailgate, 360-degree camera system, digital instrumentation, a 12.9-inch infotainment array, in-built sat nav, DAB+ digital radio reception, wireless App-Connect, and wireless charging.

The ‘Life’ variant is offered in five- and seven-seat configuration, the latter offering 4Motion all-wheel drive as standard, ensuring “greater stability, agility and precision”, says Volkswagen.
In the mid-tier of the range is the Tayron 150TSI Elegance (from $59,490 + ORC) which adds 19-inch Catania alloy wheels, chromed roof rails and exterior garnishing, LED Plus headlighting, leather-appointed upholstery, a heated steering wheel, powered front seat adjustment, and heated, ventilated, and massaging front seats.
The model is available optionally with Volkswagen’s Sound & Vision package ($4200) adding head-up display, harman/kardon premium audio, larger 15.0-inch Discover Pro Max display, HD Matrix LED headlighting, Dynamic Light Assist, and rear dynamic indicators.

Powered by a 195kW version of the familiar turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine, the all-wheel drive variant can accelerate from standstill to 100km/h in just 6.1 seconds.
Equipment highlights include 20-inch Leeds alloy wheels, HD Matrix LED headlights, premium LED tail-lights with 3D animation, 15.0-inch Discover Pro Max display, head-up display, and progressive steering.
A panoramic sunroof ($2100) is again available as an option.
Optionally, the variant is available with Volkswagen’s Black Style option bundle ($1500) adding 20-inch York alloys and gloss black features including wing mirror caps, roof design strip, and interior garnishing.
“The all-new Tayron is a highly competitive new entrant in the mainstream Large SUV segment, offering an elevated, generously equipped and supremely practical car to customers, at a price that substantially undercuts the established players,” said Volkswagen Australia head of passenger product Arjun Nidigallu.
“The all-new cabin echoes the premium ambience of the Touareg and Tiguan, with high-quality materials and contemporary design. The breadth of standard features, safety and infotainment technology, even on the entry Life grade, has been delivered at extremely competitive price points.
“Our goal is for the all-new Tayron to be even more elevated than the model it replaces, while being attainable to a degree that is likely to surprise and delight customers, particularly when cross-shopping Tayron against its mainstream rivals.”
