New models - Chery - Tiggo 7Chery prices Tiggo 7 and 8 for AustraliaPlug-in hybrid Chery Tiggo 7 and 8 SUVs now available Down Under from $39,990 d/a13 Jun 2025 By MATT BROGAN CHERY has announced pricing for its Tiggo 7 and Tiggo 8 plug-in hybrid SUV ranges, each offered with the Chinese manufacturer’s Super Hybrid petrol-electric driveline offering a claimed combined driving range distance of up to 1200km.
Both vehicles are on sale from July.
The Medium SUV segment Chery Tiggo 7 Super Hybrid will be available from $39,990 drive-away in Urban (base) guise and will include as standard 18-inch alloy wheels, synthetic leather upholstery, a six-way powered driver seat, acoustic windshield glass, LED lighting front and rear, and dual 12.3-inch instrumentation and infotainment screens, the latter with six-speaker sound and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.
Moving up to the flagship Ultimate grade (from $43,990 d/a) we find a panoramic sunroof, LED ambient cabin lighting, heated and ventilated front seats, driver seat memory function, wireless device charging pad, puddle lights, rear privacy glass, an eight-speaker Sony audio system, and 360-degree camera system.
Both variants are offered as standard with a comprehensive list of safety technologies including eight airbags, adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, lane keeping assistance, and more.
Chery says the Tiggo 7 Super Hybrid is powered by plug-in hybrid technology that aims to reduce CO2 emissions without compromising on performance. The driveline combines a turbocharged 1.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine, which produces 105kW/215Nm, with an electric motor developing 150kW/310Nm.
Drive is to the front wheels via a single-speed Dedicated Hybrid Transmission.
As is the case with most hybridised vehicles, the Tiggo 7 Super Hybrid offers electric, series hybrid, parallel hybrid, and energy recovery driving modes. Pure electric driving is possible at speeds up to 120km/h while EV range is listed at 93km (NEDC).
The 18.3kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery pack may be charged from 30-80 per cent in as little as 20 minutes when connected to a 40kW DC fast charger.
As is the case elsewhere in the Chery portfolio the Tiggo 7 Super Hybrid is backed by a seven-year/unlimited-kilometre warranty which includes seven years of capped-price servicing and seven years roadside assistance.
“We’re excited to announce the details for our all-new Tiggo 7 Super hybrid model, which delivers advanced technology, outstanding efficiency, and premium features, all at an accessible price point,” said Chery Australia chief operating officer Lucas Harris.
“It represents our commitment to innovation, sustainability, and exceptional value for our customers.”
While the Large SUV segment Chery Tiggo 8 Super Hybrid offers identical warranty cover, safety features, and driveline technology and specifications, it varies slightly in terms of equipment and price.
The model range starts from $45,990 drive-away for the Urban variant, which arrives as standard with 19-inch alloy wheels, 360-degree camera technology, faux leather upholstery, a 50W wireless device charging pad, LED ambient cabin lighting, acoustic windscreen glass, LED front and rear lighting, puddle lights, nine airbags, a six-way powered driver’s seat, 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, 15.6-inch infotainment screen, and a 10-speaker sound system.
For the flagship Chery Tiggo 8 Super Hybrid Ultimate (from $49,990 d/a) we find heated and ventilated front seats, driver headrest speakers (x2), head-up display, a panoramic sunroof, rear privacy glass, driver seat massage function, and illuminated sill covers.
