New models - Mercedes-Benz - EQA - 250EQA and EQB City Editions announcedMercedes-Benz offers special edition treatment for EQA and EQB electric SUVs2 Jul 2025 By MATT BROGAN MERCEDES-BENZ Australia has announced new EQA and EQB City Edition variants as additions to its local line-up, the treatment applied to ‘250+’ versions of the small electric SUVs from $80,700 and $85,400 plus on-road costs respectively.
Now available to order, the City Edition duo squeezes in beneath the Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT) exemption point, adding appeal for Australian buyers keen to purchase a Mercedes-Benz electric vehicle.
Equipment highlights for the EQA 250+ and EQB 250+ City Edition twins include 19-inch alloy wheels, an AMG Line exterior styling package, comfort suspension tune, LED headlights with adaptive high beam, electrically adjustable front seats with heating and position-memory function, keyless entry and start, and included metallic paint.
Elsewhere we find Artico synthetic leather and Microcut artificial suede combination upholstery, a Nappa leather steering wheel rim, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, augmented reality satellite navigation, ambient LED cabin lighting, wireless phone charging pad, and DAB+ digital radio reception.
Both variants continue to offer a strong catalogue of standard safety technologies including nine airbags, adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, automated parking assistance, blind spot monitoring, front and rear parking sensors, lane keeping assistance, and much more.
As per their respective donor models, the EQA 250+ and EQB 250+ City Edition duo continue to offer 140kW and 385Nm of system power delivered to the front wheels via a single electric motor. Electrons are drawn from a 70.5kWh battery offering a range of 578km (NEDC) in the EQA and 564km (NEDC) in the EQB.
Both models are offered with a free three-year service package and 12 months complementary public charging via the Chargefox network.
Locally, the Mercedes-Benz EQA competes within the Small SUV over $45K segment where it has achieved year-to-date sales of 394 units.
It rivals the likes of the Kia EV3 (832 unit sales YTD), Renault Megane E-Tech (138 units), and Volvo EX30 (559 units), as well as electric versions of the BMW 1 Series, Genesis GV60, and Mini Countryman.
Meanwhile, the Mercedes-Benz EQB is found in the Medium SUV over $60K segment where it has sold 300 units since the start of 2025.
The EQB vies against competitors including the Audi Q4 e-tron (50 unit sales YTD), Hyundai Ioniq 5 (364 units), and Kia EV5 (2212 units), as well as electric versions of the Genesis GV70 (433 units) and Porsche Macan (1238 units).
